Jill Biden and little Beau welcome the White House tree

For her first Christmas as First Lady, Jill Biden was surrounded by her stepson Hunter and grandson Beau to welcome the White House tree.

Family welcome for the White House Christmas tree. On Monday, Jill Biden hosted, under the lens of photographers, the tree for the end of the year celebrations. The First Lady, whose first Christmas it will be in this function, was surrounded by Hunter, the son of Joe Biden, who came with his wife Melissa and their son Beau. Jill Biden approached to kiss the boy, who takes his first name from the eldest son of Joe Biden, who died in 2015 from a severe form of brain cancer.

"He is handsome ! Beautiful, really, ”exclaimed Jill Biden in front of the official tree, in the presence of Rusty and Beau Estes, who won for the third time the contest for the most beautiful tree - and the right to supply the White House. The tree will be installed in the Blue Room, one of the reception rooms of the presidential residence. But until then, the Biden clan will reunite this Thursday in Nantucket, where they usually meet to celebrate Thanksgiving: the entire family has broken this tradition on just two occasions, after the death of Beau and last year, due to health restrictions advising to limit the number of guests at the table.

After receiving the tree, Jill Biden accompanied her husband to North Carolina - where the tree came from - to visit Fort Bragg Army Base, where they participated in an early Thanksgiving meal with service members and families from soldiers deployed abroad.
